The Ultimate Hard-Rockin Band
Here are my candidates for the ultimate hard rock band:
Lead Guitar: Jimmy Page
Lead Vocals: Robert Plant
Bass Guitar: John Entwistle
Rhythm Guitar: Keith Richards
Drums: Keith Moon
Feel free to leave many comments about what you think would be the ultimate band, but keep in mind that this is not a list of people who were the best at what they did (i.e. Jimi Hendrix was the best guitarist; however, he was more of a one-man show, and John Lennon was the best songwriter of all time, but not necessarily the best singer, etc.)

6 people should've kept to themselves:
Three complaints, mate. The first: you forgot keyboards. Of course, you would have to be a bloody fool not to pick JohnPaul Jones. And second of all, Jaco Pastorius owns Jon Entwistle. And third, lead singer, Johnny Rotten. And yes, I realize Jaco was a jazz bassist. But, it is a fact that Jaco was considering forming a rock group, but he is now desceased. Rock on, the sexy anonymous Brit

You forgot one of the most important things:

Jello Biafra and Johnny Rotten as your little behind the scenes songwriters. Oh yeah, that's the stuff.

That's kickass for hard rock, but what about for just plain rock (i.e., not so hard)?
I think
Keith Richards-Rhythm
Eric Clapton-Lead
Charlie Watts-Drums
Paul McCartney-Bass and vocals
John Lennon-Vocals, guitar, misc.
would be pretty good for such a band. Also the songwriting would be pretty amazing. I put Paul instead of Entwistle for bass because
